Getting to Medina is really easy, either by plane, car, or buses; all are available.
The cheapest way to get there is by buses.
Getting from Medina to Jeddah (and vice versa) is a five-hour journey. Cost is SR45 per person. Getting from Mecca to Medina is about SR50 per person with six-hour journey.
Water bottles are served and sometimes snacks for free.
SAPTCO bus stations are directly next to the Holy Mosque (al Haram) in Medina.
In Jeddah, the bus station at the seaport.
Bear in mind, you should have your valid iqama (visa)with you. There are checkpoints at the entrance and exit of Medina.
There're are cheaper buses who operate privately where it cots SR35 per person to get from Jeddah to Medina. You'd need to wait for the guy calling loudly, 'Medina...Medina'...or 'Jeddah...Jeddah' or whever destination you intend to go to...and God speed:^)
